How to Start Your Day With A Smile: Reducing Anxiety In The Morning
We all have some morning routines to do after our healthy sleep, like doing some stretchings or washing our face; this a way for us to welcome a brand new day. But there are some of us who are already anxious early in the morning. They tend to say, “Oh, it’s a new day but I still have a lot of work today in the office,” which would be a type or anxiety, the anxiety in the workplace. Having these thoughts early in the morning could really ruin your day and that it would affect your daily life. How will you prevent these thoughts? Here are some tips on how to reduce anxiety in the morning to start your day with a smile.
1. Wake Up Early
Some may have a hard time to wake up early in the morning as it would be nice to sleep in your cozy bed with the freshness of morning breeze and the sunlight streaming through your window, but waking up early in the morning would help you focus on the things you have to do to start your day off. You don’t have to rush things early in the morning. You have plenty of time to do your morning routine, maybe fixing your bed or cooking your breakfast or have time to read a book. Waking up early would help you keep calm and starting the day without any fuss.
2. Go Have a Mindfulness Meditation/Pray
Start your day with a mindfulness meditation or take a time to pray. This would help you calm your mind of the thoughts that are trying to get you anxious. With mindfulness meditation, you can observe your thoughts and feelings which tend to move in particular patterns. This would help you lessen your anxiety and also helps you develop inner balance.
3. Have a healthy Breakfast, Drink a Cup of Tea or Coffee
Drinking a cup of tea or coffee in the morning is common when having a healthy breakfast. But did you know that drinking a cup of coffee or tea will help you relax and keep your mind at ease? It is really nice to sing along to your favorite song while driving your way to work. Listening to music would uplift your mood and could give you good vibes. But if you prefer to have a calm and relaxed playlist, you can choose a wide variety of instrumental music or maybe the sound of waves or birds chirping. This would not only help you reduce anxiety but also will help you relieve stress.
5. Play With Your Pet
Who can resist to the cuteness of a dog or the charm of a cat? Having a pet can help you reduce anxiety. You could play with them, go for a walk or jog with them or maybe just enjoy their warm company.
