Kathryn is a registered clinical psychologist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is also completing her PhD part-time in Clinical Psychology at the University of Queensland. Kathryn has six years of experience working in private practice treating a range of presentations. She also has experience working in acute, inpatient mental health settings as well as sessional academia. Prior to commencing her career as a psychologist, Kathryn worked for a number of years as a residential youth worker and an applied behaviour therapist for children living with autism spectrum disorder. Kathryn has substantial experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and her PhD research focuses on the adjustment of recently resettled migrant families. At present, Kathryn divides her time between private practice, writing her PhD, and caring for her two young children.

Kathryn has experience in the assessment and treatment of a range of mental health concerns, across the lifespan. During the assessment process, Kathryn considers the various and often complex factors that may be impacting her clients’ functioning and wellbeing. She aims to work collaboratively with clients – empowering them to take an active role in facilitating positive change in their lives. In terms of treatment modalities, Kathryn utilises evidence-based strategies including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Kathryn is trained in the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program and is passionate about improving family relationships and reducing parenting-related stress. Kathryn may be able to assist child or adolescent clients experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties. She is available for parenting support and can also advise on school or home-based behaviour management. Kathryn is also available to assist adult clients, particularly those experiencing depression or anxiety, relationship issues, and adjustment / life transition difficulties.
